I'm a passionate badger enthusiast based in Derbyshire, England, combining my love for the outdoors with sett surveying and tracking badger activity. I spend much of my time exploring the countryside, searching for signs of badgers. Since badgers are primarily nocturnal, I also spend many late nights quietly observing and monitoring, gaining insights into their behaviour.
Badgers play a crucial role in our ecosystem, acting as natural soil aerators through their digging habits, which benefit plant growth and biodiversity. They help control insect populations and contribute to woodland regeneration by dispersing seeds. Despite their ecological importance, badgers face numerous threats, including habitat destruction, road traffic accidents, illegal persecution and England's controversial badger cull.
Through my work, I aim to document, protect, and raise awareness about these incredible animals. If you’d like to follow my badger related activities and see what I get up to, check out my Facebook page linked below.
